Maximilien Hein is an audio engineer and musician with a passion for crafting impactful sonic experiences through the art and science of manipulating sound. With seamless command of the studio environment, Max is able to facilitate creative exploration and bring artistic visions to life.

After graduating from Texas State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Sound Recording Technology and a minor in Music Composition, Max worked professionally as a staff engineer at Prairie Sun Recording Studios before moving to New York City to pursue a Masters of Music in Music Technology from New York University where his thesis research into spatial audio culminated in an AES publication. He is currently on staff at the legendary recording studio The Hit Factory, where he works with a variety of personal and studio clientele.

Max is versed in analog and digital workflows and has worked on vintage and modern SSL, Neve, and API consoles in hybrid studio configurations. He is proficient in Pro Tools and and has professional experience in Logic Pro X, REAPER, Ableton Live, and Adobe Audition.

Max serves as one-half of the recording artist duo The 8-Bit Brothers who specialize in jam-based, avant-garde instrumental jazz.
